Enrolment - 2010/201 - We are currently enrolling for the coming school year. Enrolment packs are available in the school office until February 1st. Places will be allocated on return of the completed pack according to the criteria outlined in the policy.
Mill Bank Theatre - The children from Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 1st class visited the Mill Bank Theatre this month to see the show 'Santa's Magical Kingdom'. Everyone enjoyed themselves by all accounts.
School Choir - The school choir, under the guidance of Ms. Fay and Ms. Lokko have worked very hard in preparation for the Christmas festivities. Apart from the school mass the children will also be performing at the parish carol service in St. Maccullins Church on Wednesday the 16th of December. Well done to all involved. The choir also went to see a production of 'The Snowman' in the National Concert Hall this week. Some of our girls ended up performing on stage with the National Orchestra. This trip was half funded by the Voluntary Contribution. Thanks in particular to the teachers and parents who accompanied the children on the trip.
ICT - Thanks again to Damien McGettrick for installing the IBM interactive units in the junior classes. The children are thoroughly enjoying the equipment. We would also like to thank Simon Caffrey who sourced computers for us from the closure of the SRTechnics plant. The support of such parents is greatly appreciated as we try to provide our children with the best education possible.
Cycle Safety Day - The Gardai are organizing a Cycle Safety Day in the grounds of Round Towers GAA club this Saturday 12th of December at 12.00. Children are invited along with their parents to this day and children are reminded to bring their bicycles and helmets.
Swine Flu - Consent forms for the administration of the Swine Flu vaccine were handed out this week. We would ask that all children return the forms by this Friday for return to the HSE.
Wheelchair Bays - Parents are aware that we have two parking bays directly outside the school gate to ensure ease of access for wheelchair users in our school community. We would ask that these places be left vacant for the purpose for which they were designed.
Sport - Well done to all the boys and girls who took part in the recent GAA blitz. Photos of all the prize winners can be seen on the school website. Hurling, Basketball and Athletics teams have all been in action this month keeping the school flag flying.
Artist Wall of Fame - There is some wonderful art on display in our school at present. We have chosen some art for a 'Wall of Fame' this term. The chosen artists and their work can be seen on the school website at www.lusknationalschool.org

A special thanks to the man himself for taking time out of his busy schedule at the North Pole to make the visit. Round Towers GAA club have also asked us to announce that children under 10 can visit Santa at the club this coming Sunday the 13th of December at 2 o'clock.
The Giving Season - In light of the difficult times the teachers request that rather than giving teachers presents this Christmas any child who wishes to do so may bring a non-perishable item to school next week. These items will be placed in boxes in the classrooms and given to the St. Vincent De Paul next Friday the 18th of December. They will then be put into hampers by the SVP and shared among needy families in the community.
Finally the staff of Lusk National School would like to wish all our parents, guardians and other members of the community in Lusk who are such a support to the school a happy and peaceful Christmas break.
