27th September 2010

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

It is hard to believe that the month of September is almost over. The weeks have certainly flown by

School Calendar - The school calendar is attached to this newsletter. A copy is also available to browse on the website.

Pupil Contact Forms - We would ask all families to return the Pupil Contact forms as quickly as possible. It is in your child's interest that we have the most up to date contact details possible

Mobile Phones - We would ask all parents to support our mobile phone policy. We would prefer if all children left their phones at home. However if a family feels their child must bring the phone to school it must be left powered off in their bag until the child has left the school grounds as per school policy.

School Website - We would remind parents that our school website is up and running once again. It is a great resource which can help keep families in touch with all the latest activities in the school. Ms. Lynch does a great job of keeping it up to date.

ICT - The Board of Management has recently sanctioned the latest phase of our IT programme. By Halloween we intend to install seven further Interactive White Boards. This will mean that over the past two years we will have installed an IWB in every class in the school as well as resourcing a modern computer room. We are extremely proud that our children have at their disposal the most up to date computer facilities possible. A huge thank you is due to Ms. White-McKenna for all her work in this area.

Sport -A range of sporting activities are already up and running this year. Football and soccer blitzes have begun. The athletics season is also commencing. We would like to thank all the teachers for giving up their time for the children. We welcome back Shane to coach GAA throughout the school and Gerry who coaches tag rugby in sixth class.

School Car Park -We request that no cars stop opposite the school gates or on double yellow lines outside the school. We would also ask that parents do not park in the scout den as this is private property. We appreciate your support in this matter.

Regards,

Paul Comiskey.
